Answers to Your Questions Regarding Mediation Fees
What is the intake fee for?
The intake fee is a fee for pre-assessment to discover whether you are suitable for the mediation process. Your mediator will meet with you for up to an hour to go through the process of mediation.
What if I opted for “up to 4 hours” but my session is longer?
Your mediator will advise you when you have reached the 4 hour mark and give you the option of whether you wish to continue on or not and incur charges.
What if I opted for “up to 8 hours” but my session took less time? Do I get a refund?
You will only be charged for the time that it takes to have successful mediation but you should allot for 8 hours to have time to work through the process.
Are mediation fees lower than lawyers’ fees?
Mediation fees can vary. If successful mediation occurs, the fees can possibly be less than the full legal process.
